Upcoming Opportunities in Seattle

in the next few weeks there will be a couple incredible opportunities for any of you living in seattle.
on wednesday, may 2, chimamanda ngozi agichie will be delivering a lecture at benaroya hall. adichie is a nigerian author known for books such as purple hibiscus, half of a yellow sun,and the thing around your neck. she also gave a wonderful tedtalk on “the danger of the single story”. tickets for the event can be purchased here.
the 9th annual seattle race conference will take place in seattle university on saturday, may 12. the theme on this year’s conference is “building community to end environmental racism: learn, connect, flourish”. workshops will be hosted by different local organizations such as the coalition of anti-racist whites, the duwamish river cleanup coalition, and the new wilderness project. you can learn more and register here.
